The Championship is held in Dubai, where Carlsen will look to dominate again. Before the big day, he posted a picture of him, shooting baskets, on Instagram. Commenting on his post, NBA shooting guard Klay Thompson, sent Carlsen his best wishes. He said, “Magnus making it rain love to see it.” With Carlsen looking to win his fifth world title, Thompson encouraged the chess master to perform well.

Moreover, Carlsen will face Russia’s Ian Nepomniatchi to determine the winner of the competition. As for Thompson, he is currently on the road to recovery. After injuring his knee during the 2019 playoffs, Klay has been absent for some time now. However, given his caliber, he will surely get back to his very best for the Golden State Warriors soon.
