Shaun White is enjoying every bit of his retirement. The athlete, who used to train hard in some of the coldest places, is now taking his time and enjoying the weather of the warm places. White recently went to Costa Rica on vacation with girlfriend Nina Dobrev. White quite liked the warm weather there, a huge contrast to his prior to retirement vacations.

At the same time, fans are already asking Shaun his plans on “un-retiring”. Coming out of retirement is not something new. NFL player Tom Brady has come out of retirement just weeks after he retired.

But White has made it clear that he is happy being the guy at home for now. While Dobrev is away on a shoot, White doesn’t mind being in the house and doing some household chores.

The Beijing Winter Olympics was Shaun White‘s last and final Olympics. He had already announced that he was going to retire after his 5th Olympics. In 2020, White met Nina Dobrev. Around this time, he was preparing for his final Olympics.

Nina turned out to be his biggest support during this time. In the 2 years building up Beijing Nina was the pillar of strength for Shaun. She constantly motivated and encouraged him. White has recently revealed that they have an “understanding” between them. Now that Nina is away on a shoot in Europe, the snowboarder does not mind being at home.

“She really helped me get through this winter season, and now I’m so excited to just be the guy in Europe at the house, just cleaning, and cooking, whatever I gotta do,” said White.

The couple believes in constantly supporting each other. Both of them have very busy lives and respect each other’s professions.

“I’m gonna support her. So, we kinda do that tradeoff, which is nice.”

Previously also, White had mentioned that whenever they could get a break from work, they made it a point to visit each other. Now that Nina is in Europe, White is looking forward to when he will see her next.

“She’s off in Europe right now shooting a movie, I’m here doing my thing, we’re gonna meet up when we can, and there’s just that understanding there,” said the 35-year-old.
