Besides her show-jumping dreams, she also nurtures her medical dreams and shoulders mommy responsibilities. But there’s one person who stood by her through thick and thin alongside her parents.

Olympic equestrian Nayel Nassar’s eyes met Jennifer’s, and when both of their values aligned perfectly, the two tied the nuptial knot. Both have had a “wealthy upbringing” and both have attended North California University, among other similarities. But none can explain the journey from lovers to husband-wife better than wife Jennifer Gates.

Jennifer Gates was invited to the podcast The Horse Girls Podcast for a candid conversation and among the several questions that came her way, the 31st minute of the interview had questions related to her husband and fellow equestrian Nayel Nassar. And her ecstasies knew no bounds while responding. “I got really lucky. It’s not easy to find your in the sports. Good ones are few and far between,… but I feel so lucky” was what she said.

Moving on, she mentioned being able to meet him on a horse show towards the end of her teenage life. “I was 18. It was right before I started Stanford and he just graduated”, said Gates before speaking of their journey forward. Interestingly, that was the only event where she beat her now husband, and that made tables turn. Now, being happily married to the star horse jumper, Gates said, “He was a role model and super supportive in my transition to Stanford…..I look up to him a lot.” But she was the happiest when equestrian husband Nassar swept her off her feet during a ski trip. And the sweeping off was for the most adorable reason.

Nassar went down on his knees with a unique twist

When the equestrian couple were dating, they had their eyes set on their marital journey together. So, without wasting a moment, Nayel Nassar proposed to his then girlfriend in a snowy venue. Sharing her excitement, Jennifer Gates took to her Instagram post to pen, “Absolutely swept me off my feet this past weekend, surprising me in the most meaningful location over one of our many shared passions.”

She further added, “I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives learning, growing, laughing and loving together. Yes a million times over.” Now, with the newborn munchkin Leila, the couple had lit up their lives with adorable adventures together. But their equestrianism is intact.
