Is Nathan Chen Competing at Upcoming World Championships 2022?

After his statement post-Beijing Winter Olympics victory, there were speculations about whether he’ll compete in the world championship or not. He said, “I’ve mostly accomplished all the goals that I’ve wanted to accomplish in skating. I’m already very happy and satisfied with my career. So. It’s hard to say whether or not I will want to continue going.”

However, the list of participants for the world figure skating championship includes Nathan Chen’s name. Hence, the fans will get to see the champion in France.

Nathan will eye for his fourth consecutive world champion title at Montpellier and after an incredible performance in the Beijing Winter Olympics, his confidence would be sky-high.

France will host the World Figure Skating Championship 2022

The Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu has already withdrawn his name from the world figure skating championship 2022 to be held in France. Furthermore, The Organizing Committee and the French Ice Sports Federation have released a statement that “there will be no Russian or Belarusian athletes or officials.” 

The World Championship will begin on March 21 and will go on till March 27. Since Yuzuru Hanyu will not be competing, Nathan Chen has a greater probability of winning his fourth title. However, without his arch-rival Yuzuru Hanyu, the competition would not be the same for him.
