The costumes worn by figure skaters at major competitions are important for the aesthetic value of the sport. Moreover, skaters wear extravagant outfits which provides an appealing watch for fans in attendance. While Nathan Chen won the gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, his outfit raised a few eyebrows. Designed by Vera Wang, it received rave reviews from most people in the world.

However, many fans took banter to his outfit. But, a tweet saw one person dissing on the figure skating outfits and thought Hanyu’s costume was a joke. Hence, many fans took to Twitter to voice out their opinions.
Fans react to Nathan Chen and Yuzuru Hanyu’s costumes
Chen won the gold medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics. The 22-year-old wore a galaxy-printed shirt that had long sleeves. With red, orange, purple, and black with black leggings. With Wang being one of the best fashion designers in the world, the costume received mixed reviews. The fan, however, talked about Hanyu’s glitter costumes as he questioned the costumes. Thus, it started a wildfire on Twitter.
“Nathan Chen has the worst costumes in the men’s field” factoid is incorrect. in reality, the men’s field is entirely made up of terrible costumes. Yuzuru Hanyu, who lives in a cave and has 30,000 glitter outfits, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.”
Hence, fans took to the thread to voice out their comments and opinions. There were many in favor and not in favor of the costumes.
