“Don’t Want to Wait Too Long”- Suni Lee Is Eager to Defend Her Gold Medal Title at Paris Olympics 2024

The entire world watched in awe as Suni Lee delivered one spectacular performance, after the other, at the Tokyo Olympics. At 19, the United States gymnast is one of the best in the world. She won three medals during the Tokyo games. After her success at the Olympics, Suni took part in the famous reality show ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

She has now joined college and is enjoying her life to the fullest, but she is not done with gymnastics as she has high hopes for the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Suni Lee has her eyes on the 2024 Olympics

Known for her skills from a very young age, Lee first made her junior elite debut in the 2016 U.S. Classic. She then competed in the 2018 Pacific Rim championship and won the gold medal in the team event. She also won the silver medal in the vault, balance beam, and floor exercises.

During a promotional event, an interviewer got Suni Lee to talk about her plans regarding the Paris Olympics. The interviewer asked Suni how she reflects on her experience almost a year after her first Olympics. Suni replied, ” I think going into hopefully the next Olympics, that it’ll be easier. I think talking about my mental health has helped a lot. And then, yeah, just getting my mind ready and train.”

The interviewer immediately followed with a question about when Lee would start training again. “Umm, I’m trying to start now, just because I don’t want to wait too long and be too far out”, replied the 19-year-old.

Suni certainly seems laser-focused on the next Olympics and will aim to better her performance from the last games.

Suni loves the college scenario

In the same interview, the interviewer asked Suni how college gymnastics was different compared to the Olympics. She replied that college has been a “fun different” and she has been loving it. Suni also said she loves having teammates and competing every week. Lee also appreciated the energy the crowd brings to every one of their meets.

Talking about college, Lee also stated that she has been “more normal.” She explained when she was at the Olympics, Suni didn’t get to do anything but now feels like she can go out with her friends shopping or even to football or basketball games.

The young gymnastics prodigy certainly has huge goals set for herself, and we’d love to see her achieve them.
