Haleigh Bryant has commanded a lot of respect for her prodigious gymnastics feats on the mat as well, in addition to a long list of NCAA embellishments pinned to her lapels. The 22-year-old LSU Tiger is fresh off a career 14th perfect 10 and it seems like there’s no stopping this inexorable juggernaut.

These feats and many more have endeared her to her teammates’ hearts, and she recently ended up getting words of adulation and affirmation from one such kindred spirit. This fellow LSU gymnast recently unfurled some hallway shenanigans and tidbits about Haleigh Bryant and it speaks volumes about their shared camaraderie and respect for one another. As Bryant’s ascent goes, so do her words of affirmation from her loved ones and how.

Some lesser-known kept secrets of Bryant unfurled

Ashley Cowan shared her views about Haleigh Bryant as she revealed something interesting. She was asked, “What kind of teammate has Haley Bryant been as far as an example as well as just a teammate?”

Cowan replied, “It’s really cool. Something that people don’t really know is that I trained with her, well I didn’t train but I competed with her a lot in North Carolina. So I was competing against her as I was growing up and just getting to watch her…Then to see her here and be able to just you know walk down the hallway and just knock on Haley Bryant’s door is something that you know not a whole lot of people get to experience.”

Cowan expressed her respect towards her teammate and shared some hilarious tidbits about their camaraderie. She continued, “So being able to form a relationship with her it’s been super awesome getting to bond over you know the North Carolina things that they don’t have here the OJ angles cookout you know that kind of stuff that we both enjoy has been super awesome.”

Ashley Cowan expressed that she feels great to be training with Bryant and praised how she gives it her all on the mat. Cowan said that she tries to follow the same approach of self-confidence that her teammate possesses. The confidence that says that this is not a big deal, underscores the fact that one needs to give their best and the results would come accordingly is what matters. Through her response to the question, she expressed her gratitude for the bond that they both share being together and it’s a healthy friendship we all dream of having.

From being competitors to developing a special bond 

Through the press conference, Ashley Cowan even reminisces about the time she spent with Bryant, professional overtures wise and off the mats as well. She shared how being around such an athlete is shaping her overall skills and making her learn new things to implement. What is more surprising is the fact that these two started off as competitors while they grew up. However, with the sense of competition, Ashley always looked up to her as an inspiration.

For the fifth time this year, Bryant has usurped the SEC Gymnast of the Week title with complete aplomb. It also happens to be the 10th in her career. As she continues to set the bar this high in the realm of NCAA Gymnastics, it remains to be seen if Ashley Cowan imbues the same professional brilliance and candor her teammate has.
