Simone Biles remains scared to compete

The gymnast talked about suffering from twisties, a case where gymnasts lose count of their twists in the air, which can cause dangerous landings, risking the life of the athletes. Thus, Biles spoke about the dilemmas she faced during the competitions and looks skeptical about competing again.

“To do something that I’ve done forever and just not be able to do it because of everything I’ve gone through is really crazy because I love this sport so much. I don’t think people understand the magnitude of what I go through, but for so many years to go through everything that I’ve gone through having a front, I’m proud of myself,” said Biles.

Although she won four gold medals at Rio Olympics 2016, her appearance in Tokyo was famed for anything but accolades. Even though fans were disappointed with her decision, the gymnast did the right thing by pulling out from the competition and not risking her life.
