The Paris 2024 Olympic year has begun with full gusto. In the gymnastics world, icons like Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Shane Wiskus, Brody Malone, and many others are vying for a spot in Paris. Notably, Team USA’s seasoned gymnast, Yul Moldauer, is also among the formidable contenders. Moldauer, 27, was the oldest U.S. man to win a world medal in 20 years during the 2023 World Championships, where Team USA men clinched the bronze.

So recently, speaking about the Paris 2024 Olympics, Yul dropped an unexpected update, raising speculation about whether this might mark his final run at the Olympics.

Yul Moldauer shares Paris 2024 Olympics plans

In an Instagram post from Team USA and USA Gymnastics, an exciting update came from the Team USA men’s gymnastics team. The talented men were asked about their hopes ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics and the title they would give to this new chapter in their lives. In an epic reply, Team USA’s veteran gymnast Yul Moldauer shared that for him, this journey to the Olympics would be called “The Final Push.”

Since gymnasts often retire early, the question on everyone’s mind is: does the statement mean his final Olympics? However, Yul Moldauer himself has shared his plans regarding his future.

When will he retire?

On the  EssentiallySports Exclusive Fancast, host Kenny Ducey inquired about Yul Moldauer’s retirement plans, asking, “Where do you get this drive from that makes you want to continue in the sport?” The 2023 Swiss Cup winner Moldauer replied, saying, “Age to me is just a number. I think if you do the right things and you have the right training plan and the right resources, you can go as long as you want.”  Moldauer also reflected on insights from his coach, who told him that when athletes cry on the podium, it’s not just about the medal but a reflection of the pain and sacrifices they endured to reach that moment.
