In a recent article on 9th March by the team’s official site, it was revealed that a whopping $30 million upgrade to the PPG Paints Arena in partnership with their management organization OVG360 is all set to take off. Let’s take a look at the details. 

The massive upgrade to the arena and a lot more before the summer of 2023 ensues

According to the NHL report, a series of brand new bunker spaces at ice level and beside the Penguins’s runway shall be added. In addition to that, an all-inclusive VIP standard club will be built to bring top-tier experiences to fans’ reach. It shall be utilized for concerts and outdoor events. “We are committed to maintaining PPG Paints Arena as a world-class destination…,” Penguins’s Business Ops chief, Kevin Acklin said.

The sources also disclosed that the action plan was devised by the veteran architects of the arena and shall be brought to reality this summer. It was schematized that the installments will be constructed during the off-season. The establishments will be available to fans in the 2023-24 season of the league.

Further, Acklin added, “We are investing millions to replace our entire in-game entertainment technology, as well as building exciting new premium spaces, to offer immersive experiences for our fans and guests that will be truly unique to our Pittsburgh market.” There is more!

Other exciting features to look forward to…

Reportedly, a complete high-tech upgrade is expected for the in-game technology. This system will include a huge 50×30-feet center-placed scoreboard, comparatively larger than the existing one; LED boards; and an advanced content management arrangement. The spaces inside the arena that aren’t engaged to their full extent will be converted into an elite-level VIP club. 

The upgrades are endorsed with assistance from the stadium owner, Sports and Exhibition Authority. It is primarily anchored to the idea of bettering the fan experience as a whole. Notably, Oilers’s captain, Connor McDavid recently set a new personal record at this arena, against the home team itself.
