Ice-hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky‘s prosperous career has accounted for the grand value of his legacy as an athlete. All the elements that were a part of his iconic journey tend to hold massive worth. As per a recent Twitter post, a theft in a Canadian city led to the loss of a special antique related to the star athlete was stolen.

The social media update that was posted on the 8th of February, featured a hooded man in white, probably a visual from a CCTV footage, with a caption stating, “Thief steals signed Wayne Gretzky jersey worth $10k from beleaguered Kelowna store.” Apparently, the city located in the state of British Columbia was raided by a bandit.

Reportedly, he managed to rob a $10,000 worth jersey of the NHL icon. Moreover, the apparel was signed by the athlete which added to its value. Since the store was beleaguered, it was an easy pass for the crook to flee.

However, this isn’t the first instance of his hockey variables getting stolen. In 2022, A Gretzky fan was returned a precious memory, 7 years after its theft in the same city.

As per sources, in 2015, a fan named Ian Moore reported the theft of several of his belongings along with Grtezky’s 1979 rookie card. Apparently, it was a part of his treasured collection, and he was devastated by the loss. Four years after the incident Kelowna RCMP official, Rick Goodwin, caught the two convicts in possession of vintage hockey cards.

Recounting the 2015 case, Goodwin revealed, “I dug-up the details of the old file and was able to track down Mr. Moore. I was surprised to learn he still had my old business card I had given him years earlier”. Furthermore, the news reached Moore, who rushed to the scene and claimed his long-lost asset. “I am grateful for all the hard work that has been done to return my card,” he said.
