While Jackie Chan’s stunts have played a huge role in earning him fame, they have also given him grievous injuries. Since Jackie decided to do his stunts himself, he had to accept the grave consequences of this decision. Breaking his nose, ankle, teeth, and other body parts, the popular actor has faced many fatal and life-threatening situations. And in 2015, Jackie Chan finally disclosed his most severe injury due to a stunt. 

Jackie Chan has done several dangerous stunts such as jumping off a bus and taking off from a helicopter. This makes it more interesting to understand which stunt gave Jackie Chan the most serious injury. Chan’s statements also reflect how something simple can turn into a complication.

Martial Arts expert Jackie Chan’s frank admissions about the most painful stunt

During a 2015 interview with Paulette Cohn, Chan remarked that he got grievously injured while doing a stunt for the movie Armour of God II. He also explained that the stunt only involved taking a jump from a slope.

Continuing, he revealed that the stunt had a horrible impact on him and he had to undergo surgery for his brain. Further speaking, he expressed, “I still have a metal plate in my head and can feel the indentation from the impact.” This shows how the stunt continues to badly affect him.

During an interview, Chan spoke about a bold stunt that he did for the 1985 movie Police story. The stunt was the now popular lighting scene. The stunt involved jumping from the mall’s top floor. Revealing his feelings, Chan admitted, “I’m scared. I’m really scared. I’m ordinary person, I’m not a Superman.” However, Chan didn’t give up and still completed the stunt.

The acting legend also divulged about a daredevil stunt that he performed in 2017. The scene involved swinging from trees. Dissatisfied with his first take, he attempted to do the stunt again. However, having difficulty holding the trees’ branches, Chan had a bad fall. “My whole body was numb”, Chan spoke. After the terrible fall, Chan had to take medical treatment.

The popular actor also remarked how he wasn’t good at communicating as a stunt coordinator. Chan had become a stunt coordinator at the age of 18. He spoke about his lack of knowledge about the appropriate camera angles to shoot the stunts but he gradually learned.
