Preserving someone’s legacy is the greatest job that one can do. Likewise, Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee’s daughter did a commendable job of preserving her father’s bequest. While martial arts legend, Bruce Lee is no longer with us, his life will continue to inspire many generations for centuries. All thanks to Lee’s daughter for documenting his teachings in a book named, ‘Be water, my friend’.

Shannon Lee was often seen talking about her father’s preachings. She even handles Bruce Lee’s Instagram account for keeping his work alive in our hearts. While Shannon has already crafted a log of her father’s teachings, she appears in many talk shows to spread Lee’s message. 

Bruce Lee’s daughter incredibly preserved Lee’s legacy

In 2020, Shannon appeared in an interview, ‘the Drew Barrymore Show’. The host, Drew Barrymore asked Shanon about Lee’s persona. On this, Shannon said, “I think what he speak to was really amazing like his energy, his dynamism, his power, his essence”. She further told Drew, that Lee’s presence was phenomenal.

The host asked Shannon to explain more about Lee’s favorite element ‘water’. As per Shannon, her father believed “Water is the softest, most gentle life-giving, pliable, beautiful thing, but it also can be a tsunami.Water taught him, how to find balance,” added Shannon.

Furthermore, Shannon revealed about the ‘Bruce Lee night’ that has been organized every year by San Fransisco giants to pay tribute to the legendary martial artist. She even invited the host Drew Barrymore to be a part of this annual event. 

Shannon’s relationship with her father

Shannon was only 4 when her father, Bruce Lee passed away. Although she might have spent a short period of lifetime with her father, she is well aware of Lee’s ideas and talents. On many occasions, she even talks about the intricacies of Lee’s glorious 32 years of life. Once, in an interview, she said, “But he was also very caring. He liked to help people. It came with a desire to be in a genuine connection with the people”.

Clearly, Shannon loves her father and his ideas dearly. While Lee may not be here with us, his daughter is doing a great job of keeping him alive in our hearts.
