Finally, after a lot of speculations and rumors, top free-agent Freddie Freeman has an agreement with the Los Angeles Dodgers for a huge six-year deal. Notably, ever since the re-start of the free agency, Freeman’s future was one of the most-talked-about topics of Major League Baseball.

Earlier, before signing for the Dodgers, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox also had their eyes on the star first baseman. However, now, to put an end to all the rumors, Freeman has finally chosen his new home for the next few years.

On Wednesday, Freeman bid goodbye to his former team, the Atlanta Braves, where he spent over 10 years of his MLB career.

Because having two top-class players for the same position wasn’t adding up. Now, two days after that trade, Freeman has moved out and signed a new contract with the Dodgers.

Taking to Twitter, ESPN’s Jeff Passan and Kiley McDaniel broke the news of Freeman’s deal with the Dodgers. McDaniel confirmed the key details of the deal, tweeting, “BREAKING: Freddie Freeman has agreed to terms with the Dodgers on a six-year, $162 million deal according to @jeffpassan and me.”

Shohei Ohtani Breaks Silence on Los Angeles Angels Contract Extension Talks

With this deal, the 32-year-old player has become the second-highest average annual valued ($27 million) first baseman in MLB history. Before him, only Miguel Cabrera’s eight-year deal with Detroit Tigers had more annual salary ($31 million) as a first baseman.
