The Cleveland Guardians have recently undergone a complete overhaul in their branding. And their new gear is turning heads across the Twitterverse. The Guardians appear to be on a spending spree. They are set for a full rebranding effort; and with a new stadium in the offing, they seem to have gotten something right. They recently released images of their hats that the players will be sporting on the field.

The Cleveland gear sports little change from their initial color scheme. Sporting a proud red Cleveland “C” front and center, the Guardians will be seen sporting the new drip come 2022. One version of the product features a red visor with a navy blue crown and while the other is solid navy.

The Guardians love the “New”

The Guardians are set on enjoying the little things in life. With their rebrand in 2020, they have also looked at the stadium, which was recently approved by the city council and will see construction begin early in 2022.

The new Progressive Field is expected to be completed by opening day in April 2025. Not just your ordinary stadium, the costs for the project will likely total about $435 million. However, this decision taken by the Cleveland City Council was not, at the time, a unanimous one.

City council voted 13 to 3 in favor of the deal. This ensures that the Guardians will take the field in their home city for at least the next 15 years. The overall package called for the city to contribute $8 million a year for ballpark renovations and upkeep. In return, the Guardians would sign a 15-year lease.

The team already committed to an already heavy cost of  $4.5 million for upgrades. And with the new deal, the county council will contribute another $9 million per year.

The Guardians put up a statement on their website, setting out that, “the approval of this agreement, spanning at least 15 years, will allow us to create a more compelling fan experience at Progressive Field.”
