Have you ever imagined how much MLB agents earn while getting deals for their players? Well, most baseball fans might not know the answer to the rather widely asked question in Major League Baseball. But this time, none other than MLB legend, Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez, has opened up about the agents’ cut in any players’ contract.

Recently, when the Yankees’ legend made his appearance on Jason Tartick’s podcast, he revealed the amount of money that an MLB agent earns. A-Rod said mostly the agents’ cut is 5% of the yearly contract. For example, if a player signs a five-year deal with any team, the agent will get per year 5% of the amount agreed upon, until the contract doesn’t expire.

“Generally, it’s a 5%. Cut. Okay, so if somebody makes a $100 million contract, you get paid 5 million. And you get paid pro-rata exactly when the player gets paid,” A-Rod said. “So if it’s a 10-year deal, and you make $10 million a year, the agent would end up making a million dollars, you know, actually, in this case, not 1,500,000 For 10 years in a row.”
