The biggest fan of San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. is none other than Freddie Freeman’s son, Charlie Freeman. Charlie has been a huge fan of Tatis for many years. But now, as Freddie Freeman signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, his dad will play against his favorite MLB player in the same division. As this calls for some banter, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts talked about having a little “chat” with Charlie to discuss his loyalty.
Look how the tables have turned for the sweet little Charlie Freeman. Before the MLB 2022 season, everything was going well for him. His dad, Freddie Freeman, played for the Atlanta Braves, and his favorite MLB player, Fernando Tatis Jr. played for the San Diego Padres. But now, as the Los Angeles Dodgers signed Freddie Freeman on March 18th, 2022, for a 6-year, $162 M contract, his dad and his favorite player will play in the same division as opponents.

Charlie will have a tough time deciding who to support, and Dodgers manager Dave Roberts wants to have a chat with him about the same. Apart from Fernando Tatis Jr., little Charlie is also a fan of Atlanta Braves’ shortstop Dansby Swanson, who is also a former teammate of his dad.
Dave Roberts wants to have a word with Charlie, son of Freddie Freeman
Recently, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was interviewed by host Jenny Cavnar for the MLB Radio channel. Cavnar asked Roberts about Charlie Freeman’s situation considering Tatis Jr is now Freddie Freeman’s opponent. Dave Roberts said, “You know what, I need to have a little talk with Charlie. I’m a Tatis fan too, but we’re in the same division. Charlie might have a little talking to from the manager. I’m all about Tatis, but we might have to temper it a little bit.”

Poor old Charlie Freeman! Maybe after a few years, when he looks back at his childhood, he will realize that he was having a fan moment with a player from his dad’s opponent team.
