Derek Jeter and his affair with the New York Yankees will never get over. In the last two-three decades, the game of baseball has not seen a better player than him. And now, nearly a year after his Hall of Fame induction, the Yankees are all set to honor their iconic player.
Notably, Derek Jeter has played a total of 20 years for the New York Yankees. And he is among the very few players who have played for a single team throughout their career. Had there been a brand ambassador for the gentlemen of baseball, the Yankees legend would have been the perfect choice.

Now, after over two decades of selfless service to MLB’s most successful franchise, it’s time for the Yankees to repay their legendary captain. Recently, the Yankees announced that to celebrate Jeter’s Hall of Fame honor, they have planned a tribute night for the legendary shortstop.
New York Yankees to gift a Derek Jeter hall of fame plaque replica to 40,000 fans
Taking to Twitter, the Yankees officially announced that the ceremony will take place on September 9th. The celebration of Jeter’s Hall of Fame induction will take place prior to their game against the Tampa Bay Rays. And the Yankees’ prodigal son will throw the first pitch to kick off the event.
As per the Yankees’ tweet, the first 40,000 fans to book their tickets for the event will receive a Derek Jeter replica Hall of Fame plaque. Notably, last year, Jeter became the 40th Yankees player to get the Hall of Fame induction. Now, he is in the company of the likes of Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, and many greats.

During his 20 year stint at the Bronx, Jeter guided the Yankees to five World Series. While he himself won five silver bats and 5 gold gloves. The star shortstop also appeared in 14 All-Star games.

In the 2014 season, Jeter bid farewell to the game of baseball. And after a few years in 2017, to honor their legendary player, the Yankees retired his iconic jersey no. 2.
