New York Yankees are most likely to make the very same blunder as they did in the 2021 season. And if they do not sign a few more players in this free agency, they will not be able to compete for the World Series title.

And recently, amidst the Carlos Correa chase, the Yankees once again lost their potential signing of the 2022 season. Notably, ‘Carlos Correa to the Yankees’ has been the talk of the town. But while going after Correa, Toronto Blue Jays stole the Yankees’ target, from right under their nose.

Earlier, on Saturday, the Blue Jays signed star pitcher Yusei Kikuchi on a three-year deal. The Yankees had a keen eye on him since the last season.

Signing Correa will indeed solve the problem of not having a top-class shortstop, but he is not even an option for a pitcher. And for the pitching options, the Yankees did have a few players on their radar, including Yusei Kikuchi and Carlos Rodon. But the last one day has changed everything for the Yankees.

First, star pitcher Carlos Rodon signed a two-year deal with the San Francisco Giants, and now, the Blue Jays have signed Yusei Kikuchi on a three-year contract.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman, Kikuchi agreed to a three-year contract with the Jays for a decent $36 million.

Now, the Yankees in their current squad have left only reliable starting pitcher, Gerrit Cole. And if they do not find a solution for their pitching option, the Yankees fans have very tough times ahead.
