The Toronto Blue Jays could well be the team to watch this season. Housing one of the most capable batting line-ups in the league so far, the Blue Jays are an offensive machine. With spring training getting going, it seemed as though the Blue Jays are getting back in form. And with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. still headlining the hitting line-up, the ball only seems to travel farther and farther back.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was in a mercurial form in 2021 and had it not been for Shohei Ohtani’s 2-way heroics, he would surely have secured the AL MVP crown. However, with the Toronto Blue Jay operating in 2022 again, it seems as though he is only set to get better with his hitting form. The 23-year-old Blue Jays talisman does not appear to have missed a single step, even though the lockout.

Taking home plate in a spring training game against the Philadelphia Phillies, Vlad G wasted no time. At the top of the first, he swung and swung true to have the pitch disappear into the stands past deep left field. The hitter has put together some great form last season, and it seems as though he is going to keep it going even through this year.

Even though the Blue Jays eventually lost the match 3-2 to the Phillies, Guerrero Jr. appeared to be on top form. After his first-inning home run, the hitter had a few underwhelming at-bats but he will take confidence from his hitting prowess in the first.

The Blue Jays seemed prepped for the season ahead. With the defensive presence of Matt Chapman having been acquired at third base, and possibly a few other moves in the offing, they sure look formidable. Housing has some of the league’s best batting talent as Guerrero, the Blue Jays also sport hitters like Bo Bichette that can turn the game on a dime if they ever get going.

And while only a game away from the playoffs in 2021, it appears they will look to make an improvement come 2022. A post-season run certainly seems to be in the offing. And albeit operating in a shortened season, the league could be seeing its next big emergent team come.
