The Houston Astros boast a talented squad. But perhaps most exciting of all the roster are the younger prospects. With Jose Siri making a serious impact at the World Series in 2021, Astros fans can get pumped. And the young center fielder is killing it in the Dominican league while the MLB remains in lockout.
The Houston Astro has registered one of the most memorable World Series debuts with a crunch situation hit. With the game tied at 1-1, Siri hit a single RBI for the go-ahead run. Martin Maldonado did the rest. Getting a single into left field, the Braves had a bum throw which let Siri get to home plate. And all this in a Game 1 World Series performance.

Siri scores a great homer
Sharing his name with the iPhone assistant, Siri is anything but second fiddle. He has managed to get some solid performances in, scoring in the Dominican League and rounding the bases to be mobbed by his teammates at home plate.

The player can be seen taking a pitch in the center of the strike zone and obliterating it with the barrel of his bat. The ball travels deep into center filed way past the man there and past the barricades. Giving Siri one of the most stylish hits of recent memory (although time in a concept made dangerously imperceptible by the lockout).

Siri has always been high on the flair quotient. Just have a look at another hit and his subsequent bat flip before rounding the bases. Say what you will, man’s got style.

Jose Siri – The player
Jose Siri is quite new to the MLB landscape but that’s nothing to say of his minor league record. Last season, in 2021, he had 362 at-bats with the Astros’ AAA affiliate Sugar Land Skeeters.
Siri was productive to say the least in the opportunities he got. Hitting .317 with 16 home runs and 72 RBI over the course of the minor league season. And the man didn’t have a bad Major League outing either. After being called up to the Astros, Siri had 46 at-bats and a .271 batting average. He had 4 home runs and 9 RBI.
Based out of Sabana Grande de Boya in the Dominican Republic, Siri was a rookie for 2021. But he will definitely be looking to make it big come 2022.
