Martial arts legend and iconic actor, Bruce Lee was at the pinnacle of his career when his untimely death knocked on his door. The megastar’s demise was ruled as the outcome of cerebral edema that is, swelling of the brain caused by a prescribed painkiller. While, he left behind his beautiful family, who went through a series of difficult times.

Lee’s mysterious death was more than emotional adversity for his family. His wife, Linda Lee Cadwell realized that Lee hadn’t signed a will and died as an American in a British colony, as explained in his biography, Bruce Lee. The consequences of Bruce Lee’s death

According to Lee’s autobiographical book, Bruce Lee, his wife, Linda traveled back and forth to figure out things, right after her 32-year-old husband’s funeral in Seattle. Reportedly, she went to Hong Kong a couple of times to dig out the cause of Lee’s sudden death. However, she soon realized that it was a bigger mess that was left behind.

“Bruce had died without having drawn a will”, the book disclosed. In addition, Lee, an American, unfortunately, passed away in a British colony. However, this was still not the end. Surprisingly, the action legend did not have a lot of savings. Hence, as the book stated, “This oversight added a complicated legal morass.”

Unfortunately, it took seven long years to actually get Lee’s estate documents authorized. “During that time, Linda and her lawyers had to negotiate with Raymond Chow and the life insurance companies,” the book reads. Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, mentioned that in order to “take care of business” her mother took several trips to the actor’s homeland for the first year, 

The conspiracy theories behind Lee’s death

It was explicitly declared in 1973 that he succumbed to cerebral edema. Medical reports stated that his kidney conditions probably degraded his health. However, there are a couple of conspiracies relating to Lee’s cause of death that rose to fame following his death. 

Regardless, Bruce Lee has left behind an eternal legacy that the world shall cherish till the end of time.
