A stuntman, a kung fu fighter, and a Shaolin master, Jackie Chan is one of the biggest martial arts stars. Much of that is built on his cinematic persona and the dangerous stunts he performed in his movies. However, a large chunk of his splendor came from the years of rigorous training he underwent while he was a child. Nevertheless, Chan’s training regimen was so grueling that once it made Chan lose his calm in front of his mother.?
In 1961, Jackie Chan?s parents enrolled him in the China Drama Academy (CDA) and signed a ten-year contract with the school. As per the contract, the school?s master had the right to administer corporal punishment to its students. Nonetheless, for the span of his training period, Chan fell prey to many such chastises, and hence Pao-Pao had many scars from beatings and canning on his body. Therefore, when his mother, Lee-Lee Chan tried to console him, he ?threw a tantrum? to stop his mom from taking care of his scars.

Jackie Chan?s outburst toward his mother
In his autobiography, Never Grow Up, the Kung fu fighter thoroughly described his time growing up in CDA. While his father moved to Australia, Chan?s mother stayed back to help him with the school. Interestingly, whenever Pao-Pao?s mother visited CDA to meet him, she?d borrow a tub from the school?s master to bathe Chan and take care of his scars.?

However, other students started poking fun at Chan for getting baths from his mom. Therefore, the next time when Lee-Lee Chan tried to hug his son, Chan yawped at his mom saying, ?Don?t hug me like I?m a little kid?. He further added, ?Stop bringing me bathwater! I?m a grown-up now!?.

CDA?s strict routine that Jackie Chan followed for a decade
The hectic routine that Chan had to follow at China Drama Academy included 15 hours of training per day. As per CDA’s schedule, he had to wake up at 5:00 a.m. in the morning for breakfast and then head to practice kung fu until Lunch break. Following Lunch time, the students practiced until dinner. Nevertheless, the post-dinner practice went on until 11:00 am. For the next 10 years, the same drill was followed again and again.
