Martial Arts legend, Bruce Lee’s life revolved around a series of largely mysterious encounters. From speculating his sudden demise to battling allegations of a misadventure, his blessed life had begun spiraling. 

The Kung Fu pro once got himself entangled in a rather disputable position in an encounter with former actress Betty Ting, who was meant to co-act beside Lee in some of his signature films. Failing of this landed both of them in a serious controversy.

According to the Hong Kong actor’s autobiographical book Bruce Lee: A Life, he was in a fit with the famed Taiwanese actress, Betty Ting Pei, that eventually turned ugly, around the year 1972. Reportedly, Lee, 31 had ensured the actress of a role in his popular films Way of the dragon and Enter the dragon which he abruptly trashed weeks before its filming. Moreover, he even broke up their alleged relationship after a feud and barred her from entering the Golden Harvest studios.

Hence, a miserable Betty swallowed a couple of sleeping pills and was later hospitalized. Although she denied it as an attempt of suicide, her mother denounced the megastar and held him responsible. The incident made headlines, although keeping Lee’s name out of it. Nonetheless, he was aware of the ongoings and denied conforming to the allegations.

Nevertheless, the exaggerations were dusted off by his wife, Linda Lee Cadwell, and daughter, Shannon Lee after the actor passed away. As per sources, they claimed that he wanted to make amends to the film’s script which was denied by the filmmakers. Additionally, he was too wary of his initial impression and hence, didn’t comply with the crew’s terms by not showing up.
