Hollywood star and late action hero, Bruce Lee’s iconic 1972 movie is imprinted in global cinema’s hall of fame. His significant role in Fist of Fury, majorly contributed to the cherished star that he is today. One such instance was tackling a live cobra snake on the spot, as the cameras kept rolling. Some real action! However, the film might’ve seemed perfect to the spectators but in reality, it necessitated a range of peculiars that needed to be dealt with responsibly. 

In an interview with Onionsan, Lee’s wife, Linda Lee Cadwell talked about the entire mishap. It only led to greater respect for the legend himself. Let’s find out more about the epic scenario.

Bruce Lee’s unusual co-actor: A Cobra

As per an interview by Onionsan on YouTube, the great Lee’s wife, Linda Lee Cadwell once revealed the behind the scene incidents while shooting the magnificent film, Fist of Fury. She recounted that Lee had to interact with a living Cobra snake in one of the scenes. “As you’ll see in the film, this is a very large,ugly snake”, Cadwell stated.

Describing the whole scene, she narrated that Lee had to set foot on its tail and grab the serpent by its head with the motive of taming it. While the final scene appeared flawless Cadwell gave us a reality check. She highlighted the fact that the furious snake had bit Lee. “This snake actually got quite nasty with Bruce and did in fact, bite him”, the 77-year-old disclosed.

Unable to wrap her head around the scene, Cadwell remarked that she had no idea how her skilled husband did it. Even though the snake’s venom was extracted, it rendered the martial artist in immense pain. Throwing light on that, she said, “The venom had been removed from this cobra, thank heavens! Or, the film may’ve never been finished.”

Martial arts was not Bruce Lee’s priority .

As per sources, the high-kicking hero, that we just can’t get over, was once on his way to pursue medicine as his career. Surprisingly, he mentioned in his book that he wasn’t certain about the path he must choose for himself. Furthermore, the realms of medicine and pharmacy hooked upon his interests. 

“Now I try to find out my career – whether as a doctor or another? If as a doctor, I must study hard”, he wrote in one of his journals. In 1958, he even communicated his aspiration to be a doctor to one of his close ones. However, reportedly the action pioneer had little knowledge of the same and enquired about it to his friend. 

The eternally cherished actor was no less of a real-life hero. He stunned the world with his fearlessness and unstaggering confidence. Additionally, it is difficult to imagine how Lee’s classics might’ve turned out if it weren’t for his prodigal skills or if he would’ve pursued his road to healthcare.
