Connor McDavid Overcomes Wayne Gretzky’s Never-Heard-Before NHL Feat and Now Sets His Sight at Breaking the All-Time Record

Connor McDavid has been a netting machine recently. It seems like his puck is made of iron and the net is a huge magnet. He is on a scoring streak and it seems like it is not going to stop anytime soon. The captain of the Edmonton Oilers has been breaking records left, right, and center. This season, it seems like every game is a new record for the NHL player.
Recently, McDavid broke a record that was established by Wayne Gretzky and left the community stunned. It seems like Alexander Ovechkin is not the only one who is breaking The Great One’s records. Now, we can also add an Oiler to the mix.
McDavid surpasses Wayne Gretzky as the second-highest scorer in the history of the Edmonton Oilers

McDavid just made history in the match-up against the Winnipeg Jets. Before McDavid broke the record, Gretzky held the record for the second-highest goals in Edmonton Oilers history, with 61 goals. Now, with his 62nd goal, McDavid has officially broken Grtezky’s record.
Connor McDavid netted his ninth game-winning goal of the season and the 62nd of his career. Earlier he was tied with Gretzky at 61. The record for the most goals is still held by Glenn Anderson at 72 goals, and McDavid is now only 10 goals shy of that. It seems like the Monday game brought another day of broken records at the behest of Connor McDavid, who extended his point streak to 11 games.

He also recorded a new career high with his 250th multi-point game. He became the fourth player in the Edmonton Oilers’ history to record 250 multi-point games. The other three are Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, and Jari Kurri. Not only this, he recently surpassed The Great One to set another record previously owned by Gretzky.

During the 1981-82 season, Gretzky created history by garnering 57 powerplay points. Now, in the 2022-23 season, Connor Mcdavid has set a new record of 58 powerplay points in an Oilers season. McDavid is quickly becoming one of the greats of hockey, an example that will pass on through the generations. In fact, McDavid has more powerplay points than some teams’ leading scorers.

McDavid also recently achieved a 50-goal season. He became the 9th active player to do so and was also the fastest to do so. Connor McDavid is definitely on fire this season. It seems like soon he is going to cement his position as one of the giants of hockey if he hasn’t already. He is called The Next One after all.
