Reality television series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, has riveted the masses since its first airing in 2007. While the show focuses on the whereabouts of the Kardashian-Jenner family, Paulina Gretzky’s social media post once dragged up comparisons with the former.

NHL heartthrob, Wayne Gretzky’s daughter Paulina posted a picture on her Twitter account that featured the whole Gretzky family posing rather theatrically for a photo. The internet was quick to point out the similarities in the poses of the hockey clan, and the reality TV stars.

The Gretzky family picture that went viral

Paulina Gretzky once posted a picture solely meant for their close family and friends. It was a Christmas postcard outtake, spotlighting the entire Gretzky household in dramatic poses. Surprisingly, netizens compared the picture to that of the famed Kardashian-Jenners’, insinuating that the Gretzkys had copied the latter. Even though Paulina eventually deleted the post, it was caught on the web. 

“Nobody knew that Paulina was going to tweet it and here we are,” postcard designer Lisa Crowell revealed to The Star. The photo featured an avidly smiling Janet, while the others had their poker faces on.

However, Crowell continued, “I just spoke to the Gretzkys, they don’t feel that there is any comparison to the Kardashians because they have never been involved in reality TV.” Additionally, the internet’s speculation about Paulina’s intention to grab the limelight, was in vain.

According to photographer Ryan Philips, the 34-year-old celeb had little desire for the same. “I think people like the hype,” he said. Nevertheless, controversies aren’t new for the Gretzky family.

Janet Gretzky was once entangled in a scandal.

The ice hockey legend once defended his wife from the rumors of her 2006 scandal. Allegedly, Janet had been involved in a gambling event with a few other NHL players. When enquired, the NHL star denied the claims and responded, “absolutely not.”

Additionally, he mentioned, “We didn’t get into it other than she was concerned about Rick and she felt it was a tough situation with him. She would sit down at some point and answer questions that everybody has for her and be her own person”.
