Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the greatest of them all? Some sportsmen are so great that their sport is identified by them, and not vice versa. Their eminence distinguishes them from the ones who came before and the ones who will come after. While talking about the G.OA.Ts, names like Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, and Tom Brady come to mind.

The debate of who is the most elite of the elite is never-ending. It is impossible for a universal agreement on this subject. But CBS did try to settle the debate by ranking athletes to find out who’s the greatest. Their list sparked a debate amongst fans.

Michael Jordan surpassed Wayne Gretzky and Tom Brady

CBS attempted to rank the greatest-of-all-time athletes in the major sports of North America. The list ranked the entities based on winning championships and individual MVP honors. Michael Jordan came out on top, and this is what the sporting community had to say about it.

One fan was completely in agreement with Jordan being at the top. They said, “I see Ali, Woods, Jordan and Ruth, hands down. The order is completely interchangeable. These 4 not only were the best ever at each of their sports, but most notably, they uplifted an entire American culture far above beyond than just putting their extraordinary talents on display in their fields of play.”

Another fan was not so happy with Jordan edging out LeBron James, and they wrote, “LeBron is better than Jordan, Bonds is better than Ruth.., so… this is awkward.” This does not come as a surprise as the Jordan v. James debate is omnipresent whenever NBA is discussed.

Gretzky got a lot of love

Even though CBS ranked Michael Jordan as No. 1 according to their parameters, a lot of people thought that Wayne Gretzky was the ultimate G.O.A.T hand-down. In fact, one fan was unhappy enough to give their own ranking, and this is how it went, “If we’re assuming each one of these is actually the GOAT in their sport 4. Brady, 3. Ruth, 2. Jordan 1. Gretzky”

A Gretzky supporter wrote, “Wayne Gretzky is the most dominant athlete stat wise all time. Just a popularity contest if you think these other guys are that far ahead of everyone else in there sport like Gretzky is. Wayne is the Greatest all time, he’s in his own league.” Even people who were not really ice hockey fans recognized Gretzky as a class apart. “Even though I don’t really care for hockey, it’s 100 percent Gretzky. Not even close!”

The exchange of who is the best is incessant, but any sports fan would agree that their favorite will forever live in the annals of history as one of the greats. Who do you think is the ultimate G.O.A.T?
