The Hart Memorial Trophy, originally known as the Hart Trophy, is one of the most prestigious awards in the NHL. The Hart Trophy is an annual award given to the MVP of that particular season. The winner is decided by votes, made by the members of the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association. Who will win the 2022-23 Hart Trophy? Many people have predicted it is going to be Connor McDavid.

Connor McDavid is on his way to winning a third Hart Trophy

Recently, ESPN revealed through a Tweet that Connor McDavid was a fan favorite as the expected winner of the Hart Trophy.  The Tweet revealed that a Hart Trophy voter even went far enough to say, “A first-place vote for anyone but Connor McDavid would be a disgrace at this point.” It is not a stretch for people to feel this way. In fact, it has become almost imperative to think so at this point.

McDavid’s performance on the ice has been stellar this season. He has broken so many records, that he has left even the greats like Wayne Gretzky behind. Recently, he attained a new career-high point total. During his 12th multigoal game of the season, he achieved a career-high of 124 points. This is already one more than 123 last year that he gathered in 80 games. This season, he has already got 124 in 65 games.
