A post on X was shared by a handle called “@TheFigen_,” featuring a video originally released by Olympics.com back in April 2017 titled “Baby Games.” The video showed a delightful POV of what it might look like if adorable babies took part in the Olympic Games. The video opened with a tiny baby girl dressed in an American flag-themed leotard demonstrating her adorable moves on the gymnastics floor as she bopped around with her hands up. Subsequent scenes in the video showed a munchkin from Korea showing off her artistic gymnastics skills by staring at a spinning ring. Then even came the “10-meter Toddle” where babies from various nations gave their best with unexpected drama at the finish line.

Babies participated in various disciplines, from men’s gymnastics, where a baby girl even won gold for the USA, weightlifting, and even the “3 Hurdle Toddle,” and more. The humorous take on a fictional “Baby Olympics” adds a whimsical touch that fans hope could one day become a reality. But did you know that the world of sports already hosts a “Baby Olympics”?

The real Baby Olympics

In the Arabian jewel, the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) hosts the Bahrain Baby Olympics, featuring sports competitions for babies between three and five years of age. The BOC believes that involving children in sports at an early age helps in their overall development and helps them learn the values of exercise, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Baby Olympics started in 2018 and were held in 2019 and 2023 as well. They have since evolved into a fiesta, garnering over 1,000 child participants each year.
