Ski Icon Mikaela Shiffrin Wins Her 85th World Cup

The American Skiing icon, Mikaela Shiffrin bagged a momentous victory at Spindleruv Mlyn by winning her 85th World Cup. After leading the first leg of a Slalom in Spindleruv Mlyn of Czechia, the 27-year-old has already made it to the headlines today. However, following her victory in the 2nd Slalom, Shiffrin moved one step closer to matching Stenmark’s record.
In her first run, Shiffrin set a time of 48.19 seconds. With her incredible timing, the American was the first one to reach the end of the trail. Germany’s Lena Duerr took 0.29 seconds more to complete the race and bagged the 2nd position. Nevertheless, Shiffrin’s Slovakian rival, Petra Vlhova was 0.46 seconds behind Shiffrin and thus completed the race in third place. Now, the 2nd race of the day has already commenced. And, Shiffrin is again holding her favorite place on the podium.

Shiffrin has already made it to the center of the spotlight through her momentous win in the first part of the race. Howbeit, in the 2nd Slalom, Shiffrin gave a prior heads-up advantage to all the other 29 participants, because she finished 1st in the 1st Slalom.

Interestingly, the American skier again made a splash in the skiing fraternity by winning her 85th victory. Following Shiffrin, Germany’s Lena Duerr bagged the 2nd position. Duerr once again was 0.29 seconds behind Shiffrin. This time the Swiss Alpine ski racer, Wendy Holdener completed the race in third place.
