She took some time for herself then and came out with a mellow plea to her fans in February. There, she wrote, “I am mature yet immature,” asking everyone to deal with her slightly more delicately. Richardson was going through a tough time, but it mustn’t have been tougher than when she was deemed ineligible to compete in the 100 meters at Tokyo Olympics. A urine sample she had submitted came back with positive signs of THC metabolites, indicating her cannabis use.

It has been two years since, and Richardson is still finding ways to bring peace to her life. In her Instagram story, Richardson shared the picture from her room, seemingly cozying up while watching TV. On the racetrack, she recently lost to Kayla White in the Botswana Golden Grand Prix, earning the 2nd spot. However, it will take a lot of heart after her Miramar victory and all the controversies and continue her preparations for the Paris Olympics next year.
