Usain Bolt has proven to be an unparalleled star in the world of track and field as remains the fastest man in both the 100 and the 200m categories, with even the best sprinters far behind him. Although the Jamaican sprinter has set several world records via his impressive talents, lately, many athletes are picking them apart like a treasure hunt.
Many sprinters now have the bragging rights of earning a Usain Bolt-level track and field accomplishments. But, while it’s free reign for everyone for all of Bolt’s records, one isn’t accessible to everyone. A social media post revealed that only one athlete is eligible for this feat, and it is not Noah Lyles.

Track Spice recently revealed the mystery track and field athlete on X who can match a rare achievement of Bolt at the Paris Olympics. The tweet carried the caption, “At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Elaine Thompson-Herah would be the only athlete, male or female, who has a chance to replicate Bolt’s triple-double feat at the Olympics.”

The tweet further said, “Jamaica is the only country that has produced male and female athletes, who have repeated the sprint double victory at the Olympics.” This track and field achievement uplifts her home country and puts her right next to the legendary Usain Bolt. But, she also stands a chance to win a standalone achievement.

According to the tweet, “Not only is the triple-double a distinct possibility for Thompson-Herah, but she could rewrite history, by becoming the sole owner of the sprint double World Records and the sprint double Olympic Records!” Interestingly, while Herah has a chance to equal and even surpass Usain Bolt, she is also eligible to overtake another track and field GOAT.

Elaine Thompson-Herah to challenge a 36-year-old record at Paris
Elaine Thompson-Herah is known as the fastest woman alive in track and field. But the 31-year-old speedster isn’t the greatest of all time. However, Thompson-Herah is at world number two and is close to breaking FloJo’s record. Even the husband of the late sprinting legend believes that the Jamaican can do it.

In a 2021 interview, FloJo’s ex-husband Al Joyner said, “When I see Richardson and Elaine Thompson, they remind me of my late wife… They’re going to get close to (the record) because they’re seeing it is attainable.” Notably, FloJo’s 100m track and field record stands at 10.49 seconds, and Thompson-Herah’s fastest time is 10.54 seconds. Will she be able to shatter the mighty record that has been standing since 1988 at Paris 2024?
