Portnoy’s employee and Barstool Sports host, Dan Katz, took a jab at Taylor Swift for her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce. Although Portnoy may not approve of his favorite musician dating the Chicago Bears’ tight end, he felt compelled to defend her honor. In response to Katz’s post on Twitter, he used a dismissive tone, saying, ‘Ok Kanye.’ This comment seemed to imply that Katz’s post carried a vendetta against Taylor Swift, reminiscent of Kanye West’s past feuds.

Dan Katz had weighed in on the dating rumor between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on an X post that read, “I can’t tweet clips right now for some reason but I wanted to declare I’m in an “offended off” with Swifties. I’m offended that they’re offended that Taylor Swift is dating Travis Kelce. Historically speaking Travis Kelce is better at football than Taylor Swift is at music”. Dave Portnoy’s rebuttal was wholly surprising; after all, he had made a bizarre comment about the alleged relationship merely days prior.

Portnoy was upset when Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s love affair came to the surface. He wrote, “Taylor loves dating big-name celebs who are sure to break her heart so why not a football player over some DJ or musician?” His disapproval stemmed from a place of love as the media giant believes that Kelce “likes the idea of dating Taylor more than actually dating her”. It almost feels like his hatred for the NFL star stems from a personal bias.
