The world of gymnastics serves as a safe space where athletes often rediscover their passions. Making one such return to her happy space was a formidable 2020 Olympic vault silver medalist. She had announced a break from gymnastics after the Tokyo Olympics but surprised fans by reentering the scene merely three months after a challenging pregnancy.
And now, once again in the new year 2024, this former American gymnast, who has won 11 total medals at the USA National Championships during her senior career, has made a rather bizarre move in the sport of gymnastics.

This wholesome update comes just weeks after MyKayla Skinner returned to the sport just three months after a challenging pregnancy.
Skinner lays siege to the gym after two years
On December 27, 2023, MyKayla Skinner visited her former gym, Desert Lights, in Arizona, introducing her three-month-old daughter Charlotte to the place where her gymnastics journey began. In an Instagram video, MyKayla shared her first gymnastics session, writing in the caption, “I did gymnastics for the first time in 2 years!!!! “ She expressed joy at being back on the floor, celebrated her daughter’s first visit to the gym, and even tried some moves. While her floor routine went well, she faced challenges with other apparatuses.

She shared moments of fear and weakness, but continued with endurance and encouragement from her former coach. Despite admitting that “everything hurts,” she showcased the determination to continue her routine. Later, on January 5, 2024, she even returned to the gym after giving birth to her first child in September 2023 for an intense workout. Posting a rigorous routine with her trainer at Burn Boot Camp Highland, UT, she shared how it “feels good to be back!” to regain her fitness postpartum.
