Missing Out on World Gymnastics Championships, USA’s Longest Consecutive Team Member Pens an Emotional Note Ahead of Pan American Games

The world of gymnastics is abuzz with a lot of young gymnasts from the US making it big and creating a name for themselves. Simone Biles continues to lead the pack not just in the country but on a worldwide scale. Nonetheless, her best friend, Jordan Chiles, is not far behind. After Simone Biles stood atop the podium at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships 2023, Jordan Chiles will be heading to the Pan American Games for the first time.

Though following the 2023 US Gymnastics World selection camp, Chiles did not make it to the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships roster, she paved her way to Pan American Championships. The ‘longest consecutive member’ of the United States of America Gymnastics (USA Gymnastics or USAG) will be participating in the Pan Am Games 2023.

Jordan Chiles’ First Pan Am Games Experience

Jordan Chiles posted the news of her Pan Am Games outing on her Instagram, and penned, “Making National Team at National Champs was a little extra special. Being named to my 11th National Team made me the longest consecutive Team member in USAG history! And now I’m heading to the Pan American Games for my 1st time & I hope to bring home some new hardware for Team USA! #teamnike”.

Jordan Chiles indeed is elated for her first Pan American Games. It will be an experience she is likely to cherish as much as her first Olympic Games. Every tournament has its nuances and rules, making the experience different each time for the athletes. The Pan American Games will be held from Friday, October 20, 2023 to Sunday, November 5, 2023. Chiles is hosting the sporting event this time.

Close-knit relationship of Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles

The friendship of Jordan Chiles and Simone Biles is legendary. They are friends on and off the field. In fact, in 2023, Jordan Chiles has been training with her best friend. She made a shift from Seattle to Houston just to join Biles. 

“It brought me joy all over again of loving this sport. She encourages me a lot and amazes me,” Jordan Chiles told the Olympic Channel about training with Simone Biles.

Now, even as Simone Biles clinched yet another title at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Jordan Chiles will be looking forward to winning some medals at the 2023 Pan American Games.
