While Biles is the queen of gymnastics, Owens, on the other hand, is making waves in the NFL world as a safety for the Green Bay Packers. However, the adorable couple, who never shy away from showing off their love, also have a competitive spirit.

The two sportsmen naturally love competition and engage in friendly banter, playfully challenging each other in their contrasting sports. Just months ago, Biles even challenged her husband after his bold claim to handle gymnastics. And now, months later, the rugged NFL hunk has revealed how his wife shadowed him in his sport.

Jonathan Owens overshadowed by Simone Biles

In a recent Packers Pov podcast, Jonathan Owens opened up about his relationship with his wife, Simone Biles, his passion for cooking, and his goals and aspirations as part of the Packers. Owens shared how his wife Simone has a penchant for competition and even once challenged his teammate Christian Watson to a race. Then the interview took a surprising twist when Ownes was asked if the couple works out together, to which he replied, “Um, no. I mean, she’s come to one of my workouts before, and I think I’ve done one of hers, and she said she could do mine a lot easier than I could do hers, which she could do, like the pull-ups, really easy”.

He continued saying, “That was natural to her. But I stay away from there, so, yeah, they have that”. This revelation showcased Simone’s incredible athleticism, bridging the gap between the grace of gymnastics and the rugged intensity of the NFL. This revelation also came months after Biles had openly challenged her husband.

How has Biles openly challenged her husband?

Months ago, Laureus and Team USA posted an interview with Simone Biles. In the Q&A, Biles was asked to assign different gymnastics apparatus to different renowned athletes. When it came to the vault, she assigned her husband-to-be, Jonathan Owens, who is an NFL player.  She said with a cheeky smile on her face, “So I think on vault I would love to see my fiancé (husband) NFL player Jonathan Owens because he just swears he could do it”.

Biles, the seven-time Olympian with an impressive repertoire, has not one but five elements to her name on the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique’s (FIG) Code of Points. And she has two elements in vault alone, namely the “Biles,” which she earned at the 2018 World Championships. And “Biles II,” which she recently earned at the 2023 World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.
