Simone Biles meets a hockey player for the first time

Biles was invited to a Blackhawks practice, and she hung out with the entire team and even learned some hockey moves. In a Chicago Blackhawks YouTube video, Simone was seen meeting Kane. After meeting him, she looked ecstatic and said,?“It was super exciting, especially since we’ve both been to the Olympics. We kind of have that bond, you know, between each other. But I don’t know, it’s pretty cool to meet, like, a hockey player. I have never met one before, so he was my first.”

Kane was also super enthusiastic after meeting Biles and said,?“You know I was actually kind of nervous to meet her. You know, I’ve met some pretty cool people in my career here at the Blackhawks. I was probably more nervous to meet her than, uh, than LeBron. She’s an American legend. It was fun to watch her this summer, and, you know, see her win four gold medals and bronze as well.”

Clearly, both were stoked to see each other. Not only did they meet up for the first time, but Kane also showed Biles some hockey moves.

Biles learns how to play hockey

The visit was a part of the 2016 Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions. In addition to visiting the Blackhawks, she also visited the Chicago Bulls and met Dwyane Wade. She also learned how to score some baskets. Then she went to the season opener of the Blackhawks, and there too, she met the NHL legend Kane and got some tips from him about hockey.

Simone Biles said,?“He’s like keep your eye on the goal and don’t watch the puck because it probably won’t go the way you want it to. Which was interesting because I feel like I definitely would have watched the puck if he didn’t tell me that. So now I know, like, a little bit better. It’s all new to me and I’m super excited about it because I want to like… get to know more about hockey.”?It seems like she got some great tips from the NHL star, and she then applied these newly acquired skills for her appearance at the season opener.
