One of the greatest gymnasts of all time, Simone Biles, has always been an active advocate of mental health. The 25-year-old has always encouraged others to come out and speak more about the importance of mental health. Having had to suffer from issues concerning mental well-being, she knows about the pain of those who suffer in silence.

The time when Simone Biles needed help to manage with her stress
When Simone was 16, she secured her spot in the senior National team. Her selection to the team meant that she now had to compete at international events. A more added responsibility and more stress for her to handle. Thus, to make things easier for the young lady, coach Boorman encouraged her to visit the sports psychologist.
Following Boorman’s advice, Simone eventually visited the sports psychology coach Robert Andrews. Robert used to run Houston’s Institute of Sports Performance during the said time. He also worked closely with the 2012 U.S. men’s gymnastics team. Seeing Simone for the first time, Robert could not help but ask, “are you always this quiet?”
