In an exciting snippet shared on Instagram by Gymnastics Now, 20-year-old Suni Lee was seen back in action on the gymnastics floor. The caption of the post read, “Suni Lee showing off a LOSO BHS BHS beam mount series in her latest Insta post!”  Looking athletic and poised to make waves in 2024, Lee executed an impeccable balance beam routine with a series of skills like a layout step-out followed by two consecutive back handsprings as part of her beam mount routine.

Fans were left in awe of the star and even shared their excitement seeing her “healthy and working out!” as one fan exclaimed. This glimpse of her supremacy comes after her ongoing health battle affected her gymnastics performance, preventing her from executing even basic routines in 2023.

The health concerns that plagued her career in 2023

Suni Lee has been struggling with an ongoing kidney disease that began around April 2023 and even saw her exit her NCAA college career with Auburn University and the team selection camp for the World Championships and Pan American Games. In an exclusive interview with SELF Magazine, she opened up about her health issues related to her kidneys.

Lee revealed the impact of the health concern on her life, saying she “couldn’t even do a normal kip cast to handstand on bars.” But now, just days into 2024, fans can breathe a sigh of relief as she not only showcased her focus on the Paris Olympics, but days ago she also shared images on social media donning a leotard resembling the American flag and wearing an Olympic Rings necklace displaying her goals for 2024.
