Is Olympics 2024 Pushing Paris to Announce Unreasonable Increase in Prices? – Discussed

The commotion of the Olympics started long back when the Paris Olympics hosting committee steered Teahupo’o as the surfing event location. Since then, the jinx around the Paris Olympics 2024 has started. The multiple meetings regarding the hosting committees and the venue operators added less solution to the budding problems. In the latest term, the high ticket prices also contributed to the demotion of fandom that had started with the torch-bearing occasion last year.

The Olympics managing committee couldn’t nullify several other issues as well. Several public services in the French capital recently flexed hoary guidelines for the coming days. The obviousness of the issues pointed to a dreary time on the eve of the Olympics season. 

Louvre Museum introduces a new price chart before the Olympics

On the brink of handling an enormous visitors’ proportion, the iconic Louvre Museum of Paris guarded its soon-to-be visitors by bringing a change in the ticket price. As added by the New York Times, the newly reformed ticket consumption would be 22 Euros from the previous margin of 17 Euros. In its support, the museum authority passed the blame on the rising electric spending and expenditures, pointing to the local dilapidation’s survival. Moreover, the present director of the Louvre also claimed that they needed extra funds for the renovation of the age-old establishment. “We must rebalance the Louvre,” was her side of attribution to the issue.

However, the rising price might inflict a burden on the visitors mostly, as several other services in Paris City joined the show. Guessing the looming pressure beforehand, Paris Metro upped its ticket prices from 2.10 Euros to 4 Euros. The price of 10 tickets almost doubled. Valérie Pécresse, the transport authority chief, disbursed in his support, “It’s the price to pay for the success of these Games.Among these spread outs, some positives also sprung up.

The rebellion against the price rise 

Amandine Buchard, the celebrated athlete, went on to the Paris Olympics organizers blazing all guns. The 28-year-old judoka revolted, “Olympic Games accessible to all, you said… In fact, you have to take out a bank loan so that families and loved ones can have the chance to come and see us… Well at least if by then there are still tickets.

Another French athlete, Jimmy Gressier, joined Buchard through his IG post. Gressier asked a justified question, How can we put such high prices for our sport?. However, no justified answer is yet to reach Gressier. But the price issue hasn’t shown any chance to settle down a bit till now. Rather, the country’s minister, Clement Beaune, supported Pecresse wholeheartedly in her decision to raise the transport price.
