It dates back to 2015 when NASCAR driver Kyle Busch met the then-Arizona Coyotes captain Shane Doan before an NHL match. Busch was in the Phoenix area promoting the Sprint Cup season and also CampingWorld.com 500. For the same, he went to see an NHL match at the Gila River Arena. Notably, two athletes met and exchanged their jerseys and jacket with each other before Coyote’s match against Carolina Hurricanes. Although Busch claimed he wasn’t a hockey guy, he was certainly a sports lover.

Further, as the two bonded well, Busch stood back and watched the whole match live. And he concluded that there are certain similarities between NHL and NASCAR.

NASCAR star partially changed his opinion post-match 

As Kyle Busch went on watching the NHL match live, he enjoyed the intensity of the game. Moreover, while watching, he put some comparisons between NHL and his American legacy. As reported by azcentral.com, Busch said, “You can definitely put guys in the wall if you want to. And you will fight afterwards, that’s for sure. There’s maybe not as many checks in NASCAR as you see in hockey, but it’s still fun.”

However, he proved pretty lucky for the home team as they won the match after trailing at one point. Moreover, it can be seen as a co-incident that the played number 18, David Moss scored the game-tying goal, which is the same jersey number Busch wore.

Doan and Busch exchanged words of opinion about their sports

Although NACAR and ice hockey are poles apart in many ways, there is still something that connects them. But certainly, professional players cannot just change to each other’s game in a blink. While looking at their hard work, Busch said, “Those guys (hockey players), man, they’re fighting hard out there. … I definitely would never be able to go out on the ice and skate and beat up against all these guys as hard as they do.”

On the other hand, Shane Doan also made a big statement for the NASCAR drivers. He said, “Oh, our stress levels aren’t even remotely close to what they have to deal with. We make a mistake, we might get knocked out. They make a mistake, they might die.”
