The Oregon-based organization, Nike’s Reveal for USA  Track and Field has already heard outcried sentiments of fans. With the Olympics inching closer to 104 days, another news of the day has hit the social media platform. Tuesday marks a big day as Vancouver’s Lululemon, working with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) & Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), revealed their first summer Athlete Kit for Team Canada ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games. And once again, like that of the USA, the fans were not impressed.

The reveal has shown Lululemon’s continued partnership with the COC & CPC as the Official Outfitter of Team Canada. This is the second time the brand will design the outfit of the national team after the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. The collaboration offers a collection that’s all about inclusivity, functionality, and national pride. On 16th April, a cross-platform reporter for CBC Sports and News Devin Heroux shared a tweet on X showcasing the stylish attire worn by Team Canada athletes on a ramp walk.

With the caption, “HERE ARE THE TEAM CANADA  ATHLETE LOOKS FOR PARIS 2024” the video is on hype.

The kit comes with features like magnetic-close zippers, and pull-on loops. With this, sensory touch steals the show. It is made to support a diverse range of body ranges & abilities. Along similar lines, the uniforms blend red, white, and other colors in modern silhouettes and Canadian-inspired prints. Among those who showcased the gear were tennis player Leylah Fernandez, who proudly sported the red-and-white attire, and wheelchair rugby player Zak Madell, who enthusiastically tested the gear for almost two years, providing valuable feedback for improvements. But The Canadian audience on Twitter bashed the style. Take a look.

Fans and athletes are not on the same page

The reveal has elicited a range of comments from passionate fans. One fan was utterly frustrated, stating. There was no dearth of such statements from the fans’ side. But it appeared that is not the case with the sportspersons.

Leylah Fernandez said, “Once I saw the kit, I was like, ‘Wow, this is it.” But a fan’s comment sits diagonally opposite to that.

Interestingly, wheelchair rugby player Zak Madell came up with more insights. “A lot of thought, research, even insight from the Paralympic athletes went into this. Seeing our insight from the conversations I had a couple years ago really coming to fruition and seeing it as part of the kit has been a really good experience.” Along the same line, one fan, adding to the sentiment, wrote:

Lululemon’s chief product officer Sun Choe is also sounded elated about the gear, “So proud of what we’ve been able to do to kind of solve the emotional pressure, as well as making sure that we had adaptable clothes that really worked for the Paralympians.” But a fan did not think that:
