The track and field world recently put an end to one of its most spectacular seasons. The season was marked with several big achievements, world records, and clean sweeps. A US shot put athlete most of his season and stood strong on the field despite being in a lot of pain. Moreover, irrespective of his poor condition, he still claimed the World Athletics Championship gold in Budapest.

Ryan Crouser is a world record-holding shot put athlete from the US. A recent post on social media showcased the athlete speaking about turning into a coach in the future. In fact, the 30-year-old highly intrigued his fans with a very unlikely reply he made to the media.

Budapest hero to become a coach in the future?

Ryan Crouser recently won his second back-to-back world championship gold medal in Budapest. His spectacular victory has now placed him on the verge of the Olympics hat trick. The self-coached athlete still has many years left in his prime and will probably earn more medals for the US. This is why, many fans were completely thrown off when a social media post discussed Crouser’s future as a shot put coach.

According to the Instagram post by Thrower’s Universe, Crouser said, “Coaching makes me feel the most fulfilled outside of the sport.” The post also carried the caption, “RC23 coaching in the NCAA would be crazy.” While there’s no confirmation regarding any retirement plans from the shot put star’s end, this post confirms where fans may see him in the future. Fans are also eager to know whether he’ll join the NCAA, or will start his own academy.

Moreover, there’s a chance that he may coach without retiring like America’s elite wrestler, David Taylor. While Taylor is passing down his wrestling superiority and sportsmanship to the students, Crouser can pass on his infinite tenacity. In fact, his very tenacity at the World Athletics Championship earned him a gold medal, as well as an Athlete of the Year nomination.

Ryan Crouser showcased an impossible display of tenacity and resilience at the World Athletics Championship in August 2023. The shot put expert showed up for the tournament despite a severe development of blood clots in his calf. While this impacted the amount of force he could transfer in a throw, he also faced immense pain. However, the 2x Olympic champion still managed to overpower everyone in Budapest despite his additional struggle.

His dedication to the sport and his excellent performance led to his eventual nomination for the Athlete of the Year award. Although his participation did carry huge risks, if he becomes a coach, it may gift America with more resilient shot put stars.
