American Snowboarding legend Shaun White celebrated his 36th birthday on September 3. He recorded a heartwarming video for his fans on this occasion. Moreover, in the Instagram post, White shared the complications he faced during birth and how thankful he is for being alive today.

In addition, White asked his fans for a birthday gift he would like to receive, which I am sure his fans would be eager to offer after seeing his post on Instagram.

‘Tetralogy of Fallot’: a congenital heart disease

Shaun White was born with this congenital heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallot. It is a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects that are present at the time of birth. The baby has to undergo multiple successful surgeries to overcome these heart defects.

Shawn White said, “Thank everybody for their birthday messages and tell you that today brings up a lot of feelings for me, as you know when I was first born, I had what’s called Tetralogy of Fallot. It’s a congenital heart defect. I had multiple surgeries to correct this, and it’s the reason why I am alive today. So very thankful for that.”?

Shaun White appeals for donation as his present

As we know, Shaun White had a congenital disease to tackle the moment he was born. White has been contributing his part to the children who are born with congenital disorders as well. On his 36th birthday, he appealed to his fans to donate as much money as they can afford to donate to @childrensheartlink.org

He stated, “And I was thinking for my birthday, the greatest gift everyone could give me would be to go to childrensheartlink.org and donate $1 for every year that I have been alive. So $36, if you don’t have $36 any donation would be a wonderful gift to me and an amazing gift for these children in need.”

White looked very happy on the occasion of his birthday. He showed his gratitude toward the life that he has been living. Adding to that, he also expressed that his birthday brings him a lot of feelings, as he was born a warrior who had to fight to be alive from day one.
