Hours after securing victory in his first heat of the 2024 tour at Bells Beach, the phenom of surfing, Kelly Slater, took to Instagram to share a nostalgic moment from three decades ago. Reposting a story from Peter Joli Wilson, Slater revisited the scene of his maiden win, captured in a snapshot of him holding the iconic bell award during the 1994 Rip Curl Pro.

Wilson’s caption profoundly marked the passage of time, stating, “30 years ago. Kelly’s first Bells Bell in the 1994 Rip Curl Pro.” In response, Slater penned in his caption, “First win at Bells in ’94, 30 years later. Love to bookend it this year. @joliphotos has been at almost every win of mine and got the shot.”
