Consequently, while some were happy for her and her daughter, others were worried that misfortune would befall the tiny surfer. Lindsay Arnold appeared on Dancing with the Stars till season 30, and after that, announced she would not be returning for season 31. One month later, she announced her second pregnancy. Arnold gave birth to her first daughter, Sage, in November 2020, and she is the one appearing in the video in question.

Video of surfing excursion with 2-year-old sparks debate

A couple of days ago, Lindsay Arnold went surfing with her daughter Sage, who will be turning 3 years old this November. To document the experience, the dancer shared a video of the same on her Instagram account, along with the caption, “core memory so proud of our sweet and brave girl! Can’t wait for more of these fun firsts with my Sagey girl”. The actual video also contained the description, “First time surfing with my 2 1/2-year-old.”

In the video, both mother and daughter were standing on the same surfboard, with Arnold balancing her daughter between her legs. The little surfer held on to her mother’s legs and hands for support, and both of them were wearing lifejackets. From the clip, it could be seen that initially, the pair were being propelled by a boat or a jet ski. Later in the video, the professional choreographer could be seen balancing on the surfboard as her daughter maintained her stance between her mom’s legs.

In the end, both Sage and Lindsay dropped off from the end of the surfboard, safely falling into the water. Their wipeout seemed like a safe one. However, the video led to the internet being divided in the comments section. Some thought that the move was extremely dangerous for the kid who could get hurt any second. On the other hand, some applauded Sage and Lindsay for doing so well.

Different sides, same coin

After watching Lindsay balance the baby and herself on the board, part of her audience was extremely happy. Someone commented, “I don’t know about anyone else here but I’m like wildly impressed at you Linds for doing that one handed and no handed with an extra little person lol ermmmmm icon!!!!!” Another fan appreciated her, and wrote, “That kind of core after just having a Cesarean birth? AMAZING! I could barely walk for six weeks. You go girl!” One of Lindsay Arnold’s followers also advised other parents to not be scared.

They wrote, “Lot of helicopter parents here scared of their own shadow. Life is unpredictable at best, love her living it to the fullest with her mom!” However, not all the comments were supportive of the act. Some criticized Arnold for taking such a young child surfing. Someone said, “Lindsay great balance BUT poor decision on having your 2 yr old with you
DANGEROUS !!” Another condemned the act, and commented, “That looks really risky and unsafe. Don’t think that was a wise move all. Just too much could go wrong…” It seems like the internet is divided in the middle when it comes to surfing with a 2-year-old. What is your take on the situation?
