Leon Marchand Might Have a New Rival as Carson Foster Wins 400M IM at TYR Pro Series 2024

The TYR Pro Swim Series 2024 is making swimming enthusiasts uncover new possible avenues. After witnessing an incredible performance at the 400m IM on day 3 of the TYR 2024 series, the spectators could only think about Leon Marchand as Carson Foster depicted the same energy as the French swimmer when Marchand surpassed Michael Phelps’s record and cruised to the finish line in the Individual Medley.

Foster clinched gold by clocking a time of 4:13.04, while Bobby Finke finished in the second position and Jay Litherland in third.

The Knoxville stadium was staring in awe at the performances of day 3 of the TYR Pro Swim Series 2024. However, one that turned the most heads was the men’s 400m IM. The spectators were cheering for the American swimmer Carson Foster, who took the lead and touched the yellow line in a brilliant 4:13.04. Trying to cope with Foster’s speed was the 2023 Golden Goggle’s male of the year Bobby Finke finished in the second position. He clocked a time of 4:18.61. Giving Finke tough competition was another American swimmer, Jay Litherland with a time of 4:18.70.

Along similar lines, after Carson Foster’s match at TYR Series 2024, speculations about the competition between Marchand and Foster’s rivalries are made for the 400m IM. However, these two swimmers have confronted each other in the water multiple times.

The face-off between two 400m IM icons

Leon Marchand and Carson Foster have stood beside each other in the lanes to compete with each other a lot of times. They gave a race to gaze at in the NCAA Championships in the 400m IM. In this race, Foster was successful in amassing cheers from the crowd by clocking a time of 3:31.99, but not successful enough to beat Leon Marchand. The French swimmer clinched gold with a time of 3:30.09.

These two have not just competed in the 400m IM, but also in the 200m IM. Even here, Marchand held off Foster by clocking a time of 1:55.22 and Foster ended up with a silver and scored a time of 1:55.71. They gave a tight showdown to witness with this one. Foster now knows the challenge of racing this French icon and has confessed, “I swim my best races when I’m next to Leon”.
