Recently, The Baltimore Bullet took to his Instagram to promote the cause. He urged his fans to donate to the foundation’s life-saving program. To pique their interest, the announcement had an offer for them too. The people who donate $5 or more will be eligible for a lucky draw. The prize of the lucky draw would be MPF merchandise with a signed copy of Phelps’ photograph.

The original announcement was posted on the official Instagram handle of the Michael Phelps Foundation. The caption read, “It’s #GivingTuesday, and we hope you consider donating to the Michael Phelps Foundation. We need the support of donors like you to help share our life-saving programming. And if you donate $5 or more, you will be entered into a drawing for an MPF gift basket. https://michaelphelpsfoundation.org/donate/.”

The Michael Phelps Foundation was established in 2008. It is primarily governed by Phelps and his wife, Nicole Johnson Phelps. Phelps received a bonus from the sports apparel brand Speedo in 2008. He earned that after his exemplary performance in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The amount was $1 million. He used that amount to set up the foundation.

MPF works to help young boys and girls pursue their dreams. They provide support to the Boys & Girls club across America by catering to their financial needs, pieces of training, and supplies. They also provide staff, equipment, and access to well-maintained pools. MPF advocates water safety through vigilance and adult supervision.
