The legendary Michael Phelps has garnered adequate adulation and praise from his professional swimming overtures to him being a harbinger of mental health. Despite the moniker – “one-man army” being the most befitting for the 28 medalist’s stature, The Baltimore Bullet has a lot of potent individuals who have given him slices of life experiences to truly shape him to be the vanquisher he is today.

Micheal Phelps has made the USA proud in the realm of swimming, unquestionably. Not to mention his record is borderline unachievable for the upcoming swimmers. However, Phelps’s humble attitude and amazing gestures for his coaches truly overwhelmed the fans recently.

Recently a trusted source of swimming, Swimming Stats shared their list of the Most Decorated Male Swimmers of the Olympics in the individual men’s event. In this list, Micheal Phelps earned the top position with a glorious thirteen gold medals, two silvers, and one bronze. However, Phelps not only shared the post on his official Instagram story, but remembered the hard work he and his coaches put in for his success. He wrote- I’ll never forget the work we put in…thnx @coach_bowman.”

In the Instagram story, he also added another coach, Jon Urbanchek’s inspirational message, showing fans that Phelps didn’t ever forget the lessons he learned from his coach. Phelps wrote, Dont count the yards/meters, make every yard/ meter count. this is the adage Urbanchek taught the Flying Fish, which has lingered with him since.

Micheal Phelps’s gratitude for his coaches expresses that he has been a brilliant pupil under their tutelage. From earning gold medals to showing incredible swimming prowess, Phelps is a true legend in his sport. Only days ago, Bowman shared a post on social media highlighting just how impressive his career has been in the swimming circuit and fans were once again bewildered learning about the coach’s ambitions for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

While the swimming phenom spends some quality time with his family during the holiday season, it looks like he can’t stop being grateful to his mentors and guides who helped him carve out a contained life for himself.
